'Scots Miserablism'
Flim maker, Eleanor Yule delivered the third lecture of this year's Seminar Series. The presentation, entitled 'Scots Miserablism' took place at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow on Tuesday 16 February 2010.
Eleanor used a number of illustrative film clips and supporting commentary to explore the 'miserablist' genre (typical of Scottish film-making), its origins, and its dominance.
Although, due to the nature of the lecture, a podcast and presentation slides are not available, you can download the lecture summary in which a description of each film clip used and its source are given.
