Healthy Food Provision and Promotion in Elmvale Primary School

Mar 2007

The overall aim of the research was to investigate the impact of the availability if healthy choices through Glasgow City Council’s school meals service on actual consumption of food and drinks by pupils to identify differences in consumption between groups, and to identify important influences in relation to the physical/social environment.

Qualitative and quantitative research was carried out in six Glasgow primary schools to ascertain food and drinks consumed and discarded across the school day and to explore the influence of the physical and social environment on food choices. This report highlights the findings of Elmvale Primary School.
