Creating Better Stories: Alcohol and gender in transitions to adulthood

Mar 2012

This project explored young adults' relationship with alcohol taking into account gendered differences and implications for reducing harm and consumption between genders at this stage.

The study consisted of two forms of qualitative data collection (interviews with practitioners and decision makers, and focus groups with young adults).

Key findings are highlighted in this report along with a number of important conclusions and recommendations.

To accompany this full report there is a briefing paper as well as a book entitled 'Alcohol: through our eyes. Young people's representations of drinking in Scotland'.

During the focus groups (mentioned above) participants drew and created visual materials which provide a rich insight into young adults'alcohol use. Because of this, it was decided that these illustrations should not be lost and be made available, showcased in this book - click here to download a copy of the book.
