Healthier Future Forum

A Healthy Future for Children and Families

The event presented, considered and debated the evolving evidence base and policy context in relation to what works, where, when, and how in supporting children and families and how this can be better embedded in our systems in an equitable and sustainable way.

The event was chaired by Pauline Craig, Head of Population Health at NHS Health Scotland with speakers included Prof John Delaney, University of Edinburgh and Dr Angela O’Hagan, Glasgow Caledonian University. GCPH presented a synthesis of findings from recent work which has explored the impact of both extended early learning and childcare provision and family support services on child/parent wellbeing.

We intended this to be a lively, interactive event drawing on the creativity and energy of participants to draw out evidence for action, promising practice, emerging ideas and potential next steps to help build healthier futures for all children and families in Scotland.
