GCPH Seminar: HEAT Analysis

GCPH in collaboration with GCC colleagues held a seminar to launch findings from a health economic analysis of cycling data in Glasgow, showing that promoting cycling represents extremely good value for money. The keynote speaker was Dr Nick Cavill of Cavill Associates, who helped to develop the health economic assessment tool (HEAT) used in the analysis. Delegates had the opportunity to discuss and debate the findings of the analysis and the potential for greater use of health economics in making the case for investment and leadership around active travel measures. Approaches to the measurement and evaluation of cycling levels in Scotland and current and future plans for the development of cycling in Glasgow were also presented.
