Findings Series 30 - Focus on inequalities: a framework for action

This briefing paper describes the application of the framework, developed by GCPH, to support Community Health (and Care) Partnerships (CH/CPs) to plan, monitor and evaluate action on health inequalities, based on principles developed by Whitehead and Dahlgren (2006) for country-level policy.

The framework has been applied to a variety of settings, programmes and topics, including three of the Equally Well Test Sites, supporting service providers to define their approaches to health inequalities and identify objectives and indicators to enable measurement of progress.

This approach continues to be developed and recommendations are provided within this paper for strengthening planning and practice to reduce health inequalities.
