Challenge Poverty Week
Challenge Poverty Week is co-ordinated by The Poverty Alliance. The week is centred around the United Nations International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, which takes place annually on 17th October.
Challenge Poverty Week has brought together a wide range of groups and individuals to highlight what is being done to tackle poverty in Scotland and to build momentum for greater action.
The GCPH published three reports this week, as well as hosting an event. A summary of this activity is available to download here.
The rise of in-work poverty, is available here.
Financial stress and mental wellbeing in an age of austerity: evidence from the GoWell surveys 2006-2011 is available on the GoWell website here.
Healthier, Wealthier Children: learning from an early intervention child poverty project is available here.
The event, Welfare to Work, focussed on the reform challenges and opportunities facing lone parents, was a busy one and people also took part on Twitter using the hashtag #LPwelfare.
More information from the event will be available soon.
